St Ives Wedding, Cornwall

Every wedding photographer loves Cornwall! I am no exception! There is so much to love; the rugged coastline, the ever-changing sea and weather conditions, the air, the light… all these things are abundant in St Ives, a town with a rich history of artists, sculptors, writers, fisherman and folklore. It was an absolute honour to shoot my first St Ives wedding for Tessa and Diogo in October this year.

Huge Congratulations to you both! X

I arrived for getting ready shots with Tessa and her bridal party in a really quaint terrace town house. I love meeting brides for getting shots, it’s a great way to set the day up and always such a lovely mix of excitement and butterflies. Hair and makeup was in the very safe hands of the lovely and super-talented LJP bridal.

The weather might have been a little bit kinder, but for the most part we dodged the raindrops; though Tessa – a very tenacious bride – insisted Diogo and I make the slightly soggy journey to some pretty treacherous rocks in what was more than a shower! SO game!! Super glad we got there to take some ace, atmospheric pics! (well done Tessa!).

It’s always worth remembering how quickly the weather can change in Cornwall. A good wedding photographer will always be on the lookout for little breaks in the weather, even on the bleakest of days one can utilise the moody skies to an advantage. And, between the showers we managed the full suite of group wedding photos and some time on the Porthgwidden beach – yay!!

Porthgwidden Beach Café did the most amazing job of hosting the wedding breakfast and reception. Sumptuous food and excellent service all round. And such a wonderful spot with Porthgwidden Beach providing the perfect backdrop for a Cornwall wedding photographer. Music by Dave and Mart of the ‘The Great Little Band’ was exceptional – I’ve never seen a dancefloor fill so quickly! Some great dancing – especially the ‘dad dancin’ (well done John!) A great day and night was had by all!

Thank you to everyone involved! It was my last full day wedding of 2021 and it really was a special day!

‘Thank you so much Andy!!! Amazing that you managed to send over a few photos so quickly! And they are absolutely fantastic. We are really delighted with them. I can't wait to see the rest too!

Thank you for all your hard work and being such a delight to have around on the day. I was just commenting to someone that I hadn't realised until the day how important it is to have someone nice as photographer since you are together so much - and you were absolutely fantastic. Everyone loved having you around and it was like celebrating with an extra friend :)
