Pentillie Castle - Cornwall > Mike + Kirsten
As weddings go Mike and Kirsten’s day was an absolute winner! It was day FULL of ‘the FEELS’ from morning to midnight!!
The groom and groomsmen went swimming in the River Tamar in the morning (pics best left hidden!). The night before the wedding Mike stayed at a little lodge down by the river, accompanied by an owl; whilst Kirsten and the bridal party made full use of the opulennce of the seventeenth century Castle.
A beautiful - and spacious - marquee was constructed on the lawn of the grounds, overlooking the river, providing space for the large number of guests to eat, drink and be merry. As Mike is in the RAF, the couple were given a full guard of honour; later bagpipes played, kilts were - along with the bride, and other guests - swung, and everyone danced to a foot stomping, tent raising cèilidh.
Pentillie Castle has stood by the bank of the River Tamar since 1698. Twenty minutes from Plymouth, it has a five star luxury B & B rating and is one of Cornwall’s top wedding venues. It’s a wonderful setting with a plethora of potential backdrops and photogenic scenes for a Cornwall wedding photographer.
With a wedding party of over 140 guests and the bride and groom getting ready a couple of miles or so away from one another it was a great idea to invest in two wedding photographers. I was fortunate enough to have Agnieszka Orzel as second shooter on the day. She is one of my favourite photographers and we had an AMAZING day shooting Mike and Kirsten’s wedding!

epilogue… it’s so lovely when you stay with friends with a couple. I was lucky enough to catch up with them again at Pip and Gus’s wedding in Egebaston, after they recomended me to be their wedding photographer. (blog to follow shortly).
